Fulton Mansion and Updates on its Renovation

The Fulton Mansion is an important part of history in Rockport, Texas. In 1840 George W. Fulton married the daughter of the republican politician Henry Smith. The Fulton’s shipped cattle from Rockport to New Orleans in the 1870’s where they made a large sum of money. The mansion was built between the years of 1874 and 1877.  Texas State Aquarium - It's a Splash of a Good-Time

Only 30 miles from the beautiful coastal town of Rockport, Texas is the one of a kind Texas State Aquarium!  This aquarium is home to thousands of different sea creatures including dolphins, jelly fish, local fish, and much more.  There are 13 different exhibits in this aquarium making it the perfect family outing.  One of the most popular exhibits is the Dolphin Bay/Underwater Room.  This exhibit is filled with 40,000 gallons of salt water and showcases two male dolphins.  You can either view the dolphin from above the water or under it in the special underwater viewing room!  Read more about it here......

Have Yourself a Tropical Christmas

The whole month of December is filled with Christmas festivities in the coastal town of Rockport, Texas.  Saturday, December 5th is the date of our first tropical Christmas event.  This Tropical Christmas Festival is held in the Downtown Heritage District and the Rockport Harbor Area.  Visit Santa and enjoy fun, free family activities all day!  There will be fabulous live music, awesome art venders, kid activities, and a bird seminar. Rockport Film Festival Enjoy Films Rarely Seen Elsewhere

The Rockport Film Festival is an annual event held at the Rockport Cinema that showcases student films from around Texas.  This event goes on for three days and features documentaries, shorts, and animations. This exciting event is the host of many important film makers and produces. Many of the young film makers go on to make it big like the producer of Boy Hood, Richard Linklater. Each video is showed separately, giving people a chance to watch every single film. Ready for a family fun scare - Visit Rockport for Halloween

Halloween is an exciting time of the year for Rockport with fun activities, great fishing, and wonderful weather!  Bring your whole family to Rockport Halloween weekend and participate in the Halloween Haunt Festival located at the Texas Maritime Museum.  This event takes place on October 30th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.  There will be Halloween themed games, ghost ships, silly costumes, and other fun activities.  For more information on the Halloween Haunt Festival click here....
 


Copano Causeway Pier Buy your bait and fish all day

The Copano Causeway Pier is a state park located only five miles north of Rockport, Texas.  This beautiful park is 5.9 acres and is a popular fishing spot among locals as well as tourists.  The fishing pier is divided up into two sections.  One section is located on the South side and is 2,500 feet long while the other is on the North side and 6,190 feet long.  The Copano Causeway Pier gets its name from the original use of the pier Read all about it here! 
 


Be One with Nature: Aransas National Wildlife Refuge

Rockport, Texas is home to the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge.  This refuge is known for helping to save the whooping crane from extinction.  In 1941 there were only 15 whooping crane left, this refuge was established previously to help breeding and took the responsibility to save the whooping crane.  The Aransas National Wildlife Refuge offers many activities for visitors.  Read more here...........
 



Seafair - Experience a Fun time for all by the Aransas Bay

Rockport is known for many things, fishing, art, birding and food.  There is one yearly activity that stands out.  The Rockport Seafair!  The Rockport Seafair is 4 days full of arts/crafts  booths and vendors, local food and beverages, carnival rides and games and most excitedly, live entertainment.   The festival was started 40 years ago by a local man named Bill Christian.  The idea was to fill the gap between the end of the summer and Winter Texan season.  See more here .........

 


Rockport Market Days Shop Til You Drop!

Rockport, Texas is not only a fabulous beach and fishing town but it is also a wonderful place to shop!  Since December 2009, Market Days has been held on the third Saturday of every month.  The market hours are 9 am to 4pm.  This monthly event is held year round making it the perfect place for winter Texans to visit.  Market Days showcases over 100 booths. Hummerbird Celebration Come see what all the buzz is about!

Visit Rockport-Fulton, Texas on September 17th to the 20th, 2015 and take part in the 27th annual Hummer Bird Celebration.  Connie Hagar, a self – taught ornithologist often referred to as “The Bird Lady” by Rockport natives, first documented the migration of Ruby Throated Hummers through the Rockport-Fulton area in 1938.  These beautiful creatures spend their winters between Southern Mexico and Northern Panama stopping off for a visit in our area during the fall months.   The Ruby Throated Hummers ..... see more....

Bring your dog for a play date to the Rockport Dog Park

In 2012 the small town of Rockport, Texas opened their first off leash Dog Park!  This beautiful park is located inside the well-known Memorial Park.  The Rockport Dog Park is 2 acres full of sand and grass making it the perfect place for your furry friend to go on vacation!  There is no entry fee and the park is open 24 hours 7 days a week.  The park has separate sections for large dogs and small dogs so you do not have to worry about injury.  Read more here...........
 



Saltwater Sweeties Annual Ladies Fishing Tournament

Get your girlfriends together and head to Aransas Pass, Texas for the Saltwater Sweeties annual ladies fishing tournament! This awesome tournament is a favorite among locals and vacationers!  The 2015 tournament begins on Friday, July 31st and goes through Saturday, August 1st.  The coastal bend guides association hosts this tournament and offers cash pot prizes! 4th Annual Bastante John Uhr Memorial Billfish Tournament

This year is the fourth annual John UHR Memorial Billfish Tournament in Rockport, Texas.  Held on July 8th through 11th, this tournament is one of the most exciting of the year.  Registration begins at Poor Mans Country Club at 3 P.M. and goes until 8 P.M.  You will also be able to pick up your tournament bag here which contains important tournament information.  The early departure time begins at 5 P.M. on Thursday.  A video .... 80th Annual Deep Sea Roundup Deep Sea Fishing at its Finest

This year is the 80th year of the deep sea round up located in Port Aransas, Texas which is only a short drive away from Rockport, Texas.  This is definitely  a fishing tournament that you do not want to miss out on!  It is open to all ages and all levels of expertise. Starting on July 9th and ending on July
12th, the Deep Sea Roundup is the perfect way to spend your summer vacation.  The fishing divisions include

Rockport Art Festival Enjoy Meeting Artists and Viewing Their Artwork

Take your family and head to Rockport for the 46th annual Rockport Art Festival! Held on Fourth of July weekend, the Rockport Art Festival is extremely popular among locals and tourists. This exciting event starts on Saturday, July 4th at 10 A.M. until 6 P.M. and continuous to Sunday, July 5th from 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. On Saturday admission is 7 dollars for adults and 1 dollar for children under 12. Sunday's admission price is 6 dollars for adults and 1 dollar for children under 12. A VIP pass can be purchased for only 10 dollars and lasts for the whole weekend and gets you front line access. More info here......... 
 



Bring out your Red White and Blue Celebrate July 4th in Rockport

Head to Rockport, Texas this Fourth of July weekend for a relaxing day barbecuing on the beach and a thrilling night of fireworks. Every year the Wendell Family puts on a local firework show. The firework show is a privately funded event that has become extremely popular over the years. They have been putting on this show since 1965 and promise that this year will be the best yet. The show will start at dark which will be around 9:30 P.M. on Friday, July 4th. The Wendell family is accepting donations to help support the show and keep it going year after year. Rockport, Texas is a beautiful city with several  bays, lakes, and beaches making it the perfect place for kayaking and boating.  Boating is a very popular recreational past time in Rockport and there are several places to rent from.  Some of our favorite places to rent boats are the Little Bay Marina and Cove Harbor Marina.  The Little Bay Marina rents our five different boats for an amazing day of sightseeing or fishing. This year is the 20th Annual Salty Dog Fishing Tournament taking place on June 26-27 in Rockport at Paws and Taws Convention Center!  This exciting tournament is held at the Paws and Taws Convention Center in Fulton, Texas.  If you register early than it is only $40 per fishermen.  There will be a $10 late fee if you register after June 12th.  The money for the entry fees goes toward the prizes that will be given out to the winners.  If you would like to enter, click here to print out the entry form.  Find out more .............

This Easter the forty year tradition continues with the non-denominational sunrise service in Rockport Texas. This beautiful service is held at the Rockport Beach Park Bandshell on Sunday, April 5th at 7 a.m. Every year the Aransas County Ministerial Association puts on this extraordinary mass.  Pastors from Presbyterian, Catholic, Baptist, Methodist and Lutheran churches will all come together to worship.
